The Osu Deanery Catholic Youth Council (ODCYC) Executives on Sunday, 16 August 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the immediate past Osu Deanery Youth Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Gerald Owusu-Amankwatia, as part of efforts to maintain the strong bonds of fellowship and appreciation that have characterised the Council's relationship with its former chaplain.
The visit provided an opportunity for the executives to express their heartfelt appreciation to Rev. Fr. Gerald for his immense support, guidance, and wise counsel during his tenure as Chaplain. The executives acknowledged his invaluable contribution to the growth and development of the youth ministry within the Osu Deanery and the lasting impact of his pastoral leadership.
The delegation was led by the Chairperson, Nathaniel Korsi Ocloo, and included Kimberly Wontuota, Secretary; Angelina Arthur, Assistant Secretary; Michael Marley, Organizer; Clement Nana Oduro, Assistant Organizer; Joshua Pwalia, Financial Secretary; and Afua Obenewaa Aidoo, Ex-Officio.
During the visit, the executives presented gifts to Rev. Fr. Gerald as a token of appreciation for his service and dedication to the youth of the Deanery.
In his response, Rev. Fr. Gerald expressed his gratitude to the executives for the thoughtful gesture and for taking the time to visit him. He encouraged the Council to remain united, committed to the Catholic faith, and focused on empowering young people to actively participate in the life and mission of the Church.
The visit was marked by warm conversations, reflections on the Chaplain's time in office, and a renewed sense of fellowship between the former Chaplain and the current leadership of the Osu Deanery Catholic Youth Council.
The Osu Deanery Catholic Youth Council expressed its appreciation to Rev. Fr. Gerald once again for his service and pastoral leadership, while wishing him continued success and God's blessings in his future ministry.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the executives to reflect on the Chaplain's time in office and share moments of fellowship in a warm and cordial atmosphere.
