The Catholic Archdiocese of Accra is celebrating its 3rd Archdiocesan Solemnity of the Assumption from August 6 to August 15, 2026. The theme for this year is “Mother Mary: A True Witness of the Gospel”. Events span parish novenas, deanery grotto reflections, and a grand climax.
Schedule of Activities
- Parish Level (August 6–11): Novena prayers and devotions held across local parishes and stations, including a candlelight procession on August 7.
- Deanery Level (August 12–14): Daily grotto celebrations and prayers starting at 4:00 p.m. at designated deanery centers.
- Grand Climax (August 15): Simultaneous grand celebrations beginning with a penitential walk at 7:00 a.m. at selected major grottos.
